Tottenham sign Doherty

Tottenham have, on Sunday, officially announced the signing of Matt Doherty from Wolves.

Spurs links to the full-back began to gather pace earlier this week with a deal seemingly thrashed out fairly quickly.

Now, in posts across the club’s social media platforms and official website, the Lilywhites have confirmed that the Republic of Ireland international has agreed a four-year deal with the Londoners:

Aurier rejected Wolves

The 28-year-old’s arrival at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium is expected to pave the way for Serge Aurier to leave the club.

And according to a recent report, one potential landing spot for the Ivorian could have been Wolves, but the right-back is said to have turned down a move.

As per the Daily Star:

Unsettled Tottenham defender Serge Aurier has rejected a move to Wolves – as part of the deal taking Matt Doherty in the other direction.

It is added that Aurier wants to move back to Europe, with AC Milan his preferred destination. German outfit Bayer Leverkusen are also touted as another landing spot.
