Tottenham vs West Ham
Tottenham are set to return to competitive action in around 24 hours’ time
Jose Mourinho and co. will welcome West Ham to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a 4:30 pm kick-off.
Spurs head into the tie in pretty solid form, with their last outing having seen the north Londoners down Manchester United by 6 goals to 1.
They also have a decent record against the Hammers, with Mourinho having guided the Lilywhites to back-to-back victories over their capital rivals last term.
However, West Ham will head into Sunday’s clash brimming with confidence, having seen off Leicester and Wolves in their last two league outings with an aggregate score of 7-0.
Mourinho on Bale & Dier
Ahead of Sunday’s clash, Jose Mourinho held his latest press conference on Friday.
During the presser, Mourinho discussed a number of topics, one of which was Gareth Bale.
The Welshman is yet to feature for Tottenham this term, but there is an expectation he will be involved vs West Ham.
And when speaking ahead of said game, Mourinho was asked how great it is to see Bale with a big smile on his face, to which the Portuguese tactician responded:
“We are all happy with that, and it’s great to listen from Sergio Reguilon that shared a dressing room with him in Madrid – it’s great to hear from Sergio that Gareth looks like a different guy.
“So if he’s happy with us and then he goes home, and he can share that happiness with family, it’s the best thing that can happen to him. But he needs his football, he needs to feel like a top player again.
“And that’s why I’m saying all the decisions we are going to make with him, I’m not saying for him, I’m saying with him. All the decisions will be thinking first about the team but never forgetting what is the best for him.”
Mourinho was also asked about injuries ahead of the West Ham tie, with Eric Dier apparently the only player who is a doubt to feature:
“Apart from Eric Dier yes, so Eric is the only one that arrived with a problem. A problem that maybe – it’s still 1230 on Friday so too early – will keep him out of the West Ham match. Maybe but not definitely.”
