Torreira’s agent in Madrid for Atletico talks as Arsenal look to sell / Messi mourns Suarez with goal celebration

Moving fast

With just days left in the transfer window, private planes will once again be filling the skies as agents try to organise the best move for their clients.

This certainly appears to be the case for Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira. The Uruguayan’s representative has reportedly flown to the Spanish capital for talks with Atletico Madrid:

The first problem with the potential transfer, however is structure. Arsenal are highly unlikely to be willing to accept a loan. The Gunners need to be in a position in which they can reinvest any incomings on their own high-profile targets.

Secondly, the problem for Atleti is that Rojiblancos midfielder Thomas Partey is one such Arsenal target. If the La Liga outfit agree to a permanent deal or loan with obligatory purchase option for Torreira, the Gunners could utilise the inbound capital on a move for Partey.

As such, with just 6 days of the window left to run, if Atleti want their man, they may be forced to risk losing one of their own.

Messi mourns Suarez

Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has not hidden away his feelings regarding the departure of Luis Suarez to Atletico Madrid.

However, many missed a small detail in the Argentine’s goal celebration against Villarreal. After Ansu Fati was taken out in the Yellow Submarine’s box, Messi stepped up to slot home Barca’s third of the game.

The veteran attacker then celebrated with a familiar fist-pump in the air, quite like a former Uruguayan teammate of his:

Barcelona started their season on a positive note with a 4-0 win over Villarreal, but, come the end of the season, will Suarez’s goals have been missed?
