The three positions Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to be looking at

Man United’s 2020/21

2020/21 has seen Manchester United show signs of progress. However, it has also highlighted that they are still not yet a top, top side.

At present United are 2nd in the Premier League and have lost just once in the division since early November.

However, United have drawn too many games they should have won this season. Just recently, for example, the Red Devils were held to a 1-1 draw by Premier League basement dwellers, West Brom.

They also conceded a very late goal vs Everton which saw them forced to settle for a point.

And it is these kind of results which separate a good side from a team such as Manchester City, who are once again steamrolling opponents en route to a 3rd league title in four years.

The positions Solskjaer is eyeing

If United do want to eventually start truly competing with the likes of Man City, they need to strengthen several areas of their squad.

The most obvious position being at centre-back, with the Manchester powerhouse lacking very little quality at centre-half outside of Harry Maguire.

United also currently do not have any top, senior, out-and-out right-wingers, with Mason Greenwood instead deputising there for much of the last two campaigns.

However, United do appear to be looking to address these areas in the future.

As per Andy Mitten, Solskjaer is looking at a forward, right-winger and centre-back, with Sevilla’s Jules Kounde said to have been scouted by United:
