Man United vs Newcastle
Sunday’s Premier League action draws to a close at Old Trafford when Manchester United take on Newcastle.
Man United head into the tie having notched just one win in their last five league outings.
Such form has seen Manchester City open up a 10-point gap atop of the Premier League table, meaning the Red Devils can’t afford to drop any points if they wish to stand any chance of continuing their faltering title challenge.
As for Newcastle, their form has been fairly patch of late, winning two and losing three of their last five.
The Magpies are also still firmly in the relegation scrap, sitting just six points above Fulham at present.
Bruce on Wilson & Schar
Ahead of Sunday’s game, Steve Bruce held his pre-United press conference on Friday.
During the presser, Bruce would provide updates on several players.
Firstly, Bruce confirmed that Fabian Schar has had his operation. The Newcastle boss then stated that they most be patient with Callum Wilson as he has a muscle problem:
“Fabian Schär has had his operation and Callum Wilson’s is a muscle injury so we have to be patient with him. The one that looks better is Javier Manquillo. He twisted his ankle badly but has responded well to his treatment.”
