Rudiger denies false claims
Antonio Rudiger has experienced and indifferent season but he’s beginning to turn the tide of his fortunes after the arrival of Thomas Tuchel. The German coach has integrated his compatriot into the starting XI on a regular occasion when his predecessor Frank Lampard had preferred the likes of Kurt Zouma, Thiago Silva and Andreas Christensen to the former Roma man.
Speaking to German outlet BILD, Rudiger denied accusations that he was a anti-Lampard player.
“If I had been so anti-Lampard, why would I have been on the lawn under him in his last few games? That makes no sense,” he said.
“Frank Lampard is very respected in the club and by the fans. The perception that I was supposed to have been against the coach has more to do with the time around the start of the season when I wasn’t in the squad.”
Rudiger was alleged to have had a training ground dispute with Cesar Azpilicueta but the German defender again denied the claim.
“That was the biggest b******t ever. Azpi and I have been playing together for four years and I’ve never had a problem with him. There were no quarrels or other disputes. Lies were spread there.”
Convincing Alaba, Boateng & Sule
Chelsea have been linked with the number of defensive options in the summer including a Bayern Munich’s David Alaba, Niklas Sule and Jerome Boateng.
Rudiger, despite the fact he would be in direct competition with the players should they arrive, has said that he would try to convince them to move to West London by talking of the ‘nice things’ which go on at the club.
“If Chelsea were to decide on one of the three players as a transfer target, I would be available to answer any questions. I know Jérôme and Niklas very well, and I’ve already had contact with David Alaba.”
“If something like that is looming, the friendly player will report normally by himself. And then of course you only tell him about the nice things here.”
Regarding the Austrian international, it is most likely that Alaba will be moving to Real Madrid in the summer after reports suggest that the 28-year old is a big fan of Los Blancos.
