Mbappe to Madrid: “Fact”
The future of Kylian Mbappe is not yet a resolved quantity. PSG are looking to try and secure a contract extension with the player but the door remains open to a departure.
Spanish journalist Siro López believes that it is a ‘fact’ that Mbappe will sign for Real Madrid this summer.
“Real Madrid will sign Mbappé this summer. This is not an opinion, it is a fact. It will be some time before it becomes official, maybe until August,” he said.
However, Lopez pointed out that Los Blancos will need to find an agreement amicably to avoid a breakdown of the relationship.
“Real Madrid knows that it has to reach a friendly agreement with PSG,” said Lopez.

The confidence from Lopez could be enough to convince most that the Frenchman is indeed leaving.
However, no credible reports have yet suggested any form of bid has yet gone in from the Spanish capital club.
It is likely that a deal of this size would need to take place after the European Championships.
What has Pochettino said?
Back in April, PSG head coach Mauricio Pochettino said that he wanted his player to be silent and focus on his game. Confirming that the club are indeed in discussions to renew the player.
“It’s something we are used to,” Pochettino said. “When we talk about top clubs and top players like Kylian Mbappe who is at international level, there will always be rumours.
“The most important thing is that Kylian is quiet. He is quiet and focused on the team and helping them achieve their goals. Kylian is very mature despite his age.
“Both club and player are trying to come to an agreement that will see Kylian stay with us for a long time. It’s the desire of the club and we are working on everything.
The best hope PSG have of achieving their goal of winning the Champions League lies very much in hanging onto the Frenchman.
What has Mbappe said?
In January, Mbappe spoke about the prospect of a new contract with his Parisian club. He confirmed if he was to renew, it would not be a short-term deal and extend well into the future.
“We’re in talks with the club to find a project. I’m thinking about it because I think, if I renew, it’ll be for a long time,” Mbappe said. “I’m very happy here, I always have been happy here. The fans, the club… they’ve always helped me. That’s why I’ll always be grateful to the club.
“But I want to think about what I want to do in the coming years, where I want to be. We’ll have to make a decision soon, but I’m just thinking about it now. If I had an answer today, I’d have said it today.
“But it’s not a question of saving time, it’s simply about reflection. I don’t want to sign a contract and say I want to leave a year later because I didn’t want to sign the contract. No. If I sign, it’s to stay. And that warrants reflection.”
This was before the club was knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester City and the loss of the Ligue 1 title to Lille.
These factors may have had a huge influence on the former Monaco man’s views on his future.
