Mourinho aims jibe towards Arsene Wenger’s book oversight / Do Spurs now have the league’s best front 3?

Rivalry revived?

Before you pinch yourself to check if you have in fact been transported back 5 years, do not panic. The managerial rivalry which ranged from sly press conference digs to physical confrontations on the touchline has been reignited.

Arsene Wenger’s book, ‘My Life in Red and White’ was released. Whilst it goes into great detail about the Frenchman’s career, there is one key omission. Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho is not featured whatsoever.

When questioned on the oversight in the Portuguese’s press conference ahead of the West Ham game this weekend, Mourinho gave a classic answer.

“You are not going to do a chapter about 12 or 14 matches and never winning one,” said Mourinho.

“So why should he speak about me in his book. A book is a thing to make you happy to make you proud. So I understand perfectly the situation.”

Maybe we can expect a retort from Wenger in volume two?

The best front 3?

Mourinho also confirmed that Gareth Bale could make his second debut for Spurs this weekend. The Premier League could see its new best front three in action.

Harry Kane’s consistent scoring of goals has escalated him to a level among Europe’s elite. Meanwhile, South Korean superstar Hueng-Min Son’s goal-scoring form has been nothing short of miraculous.

Were Bale to return to the form he was in when Real Madrid made him the world’s most expensive player, the goal output from Spurs is hard to quantify.

However, there lies the question. Bale’s latter seasons with Los Blancos have left the 31-year-old lacking in regular match fitness and form. Injuries have plagued his senior years and he has even been accused of loving the golf course more than his day job.

West Ham may provide the earliest indicators as to which Bale has returned to London.
