Chelsea boss Frank Lampard this afternoon provided updates on the fitness of attackers Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech.
Blues struggling
The Pensioners are set to return action tomorrow afternoon, in a Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace.
The matchup marks Chelsea’s 3rd in the space of a week, amid a hectic start to the season for English clubs.
Lampard’s men will head into proceedings in search of a bounce-back performance, on the back of just 1 victory from their last 4 outings across all competitions.
The latest of these came on Tuesday night, when the Blues made the trip across London for a League Cup meeting with capital rivals Tottenham.
A tense affair was eventually pushed to a penalty shootout, with a solitary Mason Mount miss having seen Chelsea’s League Cup hopes go up in smoke.

‘An important player for us’
As such, ahead of a 2nd-straight London derby outing, Frank Lampard is no doubt keen to have as strong a squad as possible at his disposal on Saturday.
And, as outlined above, ahead of the fast-approaching matchup, the Chelsea boss this afternoon provided updates on the fitness of a pair of Blues stars.
The players in question were Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech, neither of whom have managed to take to the pitch yet this season.
There was positive news regarding the former, though, with Lampard having confirmed that Pulisic will be fit enough to at least take his place on the bench at Stamford Bridge.
For Ziyech, however, the clash has come too soon:
‘Pulisic is in the squad tomorrow. He won’t start the match because of the injury he has had and it has been a difficult injury. I am very keen to get him back in there so it is great to have him back, he is an important player for us.’
‘Hakim Ziyech is getting closer but not quite fit enough to be on the bench.’
Lampard says @cpulisic_10 is in the squad for tomorrow’s game but won’t start as his recovery from injury continues to be managed. Hakim Ziyech is getting closer but isn’t ready to play just yet. #CHECRY
