Mikel Arteta makes six changes and drops Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for Slavia Prague test

All or Nothing

Arsenal host Slavia Prague in the first-leg of their Europa League Quarter-Final tie this evening, in what is a huge game for the Gunners in the context of their season.

Arsenal suffered a miserable 3-0 defeat to Liverpool last time out in the Premier League, a result that left manager Mikel Arteta in “shock“.

With the club 10 points off the top-4, the Europa League is therefore their most realistic chance of making next season’s Champions League.

Arteta, ahead of tonight’s clash, stated that it is “all or nothing”, before adding that “we want to be in the semi-finals and we know how important the game is for us.

Slavia Prague have already knocked both Leicester City and Rangers out of this year’s tournament, and will head to the Emirates fancying their chances.

The major story ahead of kick-off is that Mikel Arteta has left Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of his starting line-up. Alexandre Lacazette is set to lead the line, alongside Willian and Bukayo Saka.

Arteta has responded to the Liverpool hammering with six total changes.

Aubameyang is joined on the bench by Dani Ceballos and Nicolas Pepe. Kieran Tierney and Martin Odegaard miss out altogether, whilst Calum Chambers isn’t in the squad, either.

Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka, Hector Bellerin, Willian, Cedric Soares and Granit Xhaka all come into the starting line-up.
