Man United team news latest ahead of Luton clash

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this evening provided an update on his squad, ahead of the club’s meeting with Luton Town.

United stutter

The Red Devils will of course get their League Cup campaign underway tomorrow night.

Solskjaer’s men are set to make the trip to Kenilworth Road, for a 3rd-round meeting with Championship outfit Luton.

United will head into proceedings in search of a bounce-back performance, on the back of a nightmare start to the new season this past weekend.

A meeting with Crystal Palace at Old Trafford saw the Manchester giants downed by 3 goals to 1.

Former United star Wilfried Zaha proved the star of the show, bagging a late brace after Andros Townsend opened the scoring for the Eagles early on.

‘We’ll rotate’

As such, as his side go in search of their first win of the season in a little under 24 hours’ time, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was this evening drawn on his potential team selection, as well as the fitness levels of his squad.

First, the United boss confirmed that he is set to make a number of changes to the XI which fell to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The likes of Dean Henderson and summer signing Donny van de Beek, who came off the bench to net on his Red Devils debut at the weekend, could therefore be in line for starting berths:

We’ll make some changes. Of course we will. For some, it’s the pre-season and, for some, they’ve only been here for a week now, for different reasons. Some of them need game-time, they do and we can see we’re lacking in sharpness. We just need to make the most of the training sessions and games we have.

On the injury situation at Old Trafford, meanwhile, Solskjaer added that his squad came through their season opener unscathed, before reiterating his plans to rotate versus Luton:

”No injuries, no fresh injuries after that game [on Saturday] but, as I said, we’ll rotate and give some minutes. Some, after the game, will do some harder training this week to get ready for Brighton. Some will join the squad and go down there.”
