Pogba & Man United
The opening months of the 2020/21 campaign saw very little speculation in the media when it came to Manchester United star Paul Pogba’s future.
The Frenchman made some interesting comments during the October international break, but, nevertheless, all appeared quiet when it came to a potential departure from Old Trafford.
This was until ‘super agent’ Mino Raiola spoke out during an interview with Italian outlet Tuttosport.
In a less than subtle way, Raiola all but confirmed his intention to move Pogba on from Man United, whilst also claiming that his client was unhappy with the club:
Mino Raiola: “Paul is unhappy with Man United as he is no longer able to express himself in the way that he would like and as he is expected to. Paul needs a new team, a change of air. He is under contract for the next 18 months and it will expire in the summer of 2022”. 🔴 #MUFC

On the back of these comments, meanwhile, Pogba was confined to the bench for a number of outings.
However, over recent weeks, all appeared to have been forgotten, with the Frenchman having actually been playing some impressive football up until his recent injury.
But at the beginning of this month Mathias Pogba, the United star’s brother, was drawn on Pogba’s situation at Old Trafford, with Mathias seeming to hint that United need to sell Pogba now if they want money for him:
“The only thing I can say is if United want money, they have to sell him now. That’s the only thing I can say. If not, he’ll go for free.
“I haven’t heard anything about him renewing his contract.”
Man United eyeing Pogba replacement?
Pogba’s current deal at Man United runs out in the summer of 2022.
So, if he does indeed not renew his contract, United would probably need to sell him in this coming summer window to ensure they receive at least some form of fee for him.
And now, it does appear as though United could be looking into some potential replacements for the World Cup winner.
According to a recent report from the Sun, the Red Devils are keeping tabs on Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde as a possible replacement for Paul Pogba.
However, the Uruguayan is said to have a £148m release clause, which the Sun claim United would be unwilling to come anywhere near.
