Man City’s Raheem Sterling out of England’s latest clash due to injury

Belgium vs England

England are set to face off with Belgium in around an hours’ time.

The clash comes as a hugely important one for both outfits as they look to advance in the Nations League.

It is the Red Devils who head into the tie sitting top of Group 2, two points clear of Denmark and England.

As a result, should the Three Lions fall to defeat today, it will be impossible for them to finish top of their group – even if they beat Denmark next week.

Raheem Sterling out for England vs Belgium

Ahead of the tie, England are already without several of their first-team stars.

Trent Alexander-Arnold picked up an injury just days before linking up with the national team.

This was followed by Joe Gomez picking up what looks to be a potentially season-ending injury in England training earlier this week. Marcus Rashford also missed out on the latest England camp due to a shoulder injury, whilst Connor Coady has been identified as a close contact of someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.

Now, ahead of their game with Belgium, yet another England star has picked up an issue.

England would release their starting line-up a short time ago, with the most noticeable omission from the entire matchday squad Raheem Sterling:

England have since reported that the Manchester City star misses out through injury, though no details were given regarding the actual issue.
