Gameweek 26 of the Fantasy Football season came to a close last night, when Liverpool welcomed Chelsea to Anfield. On the back of the latest double gameweek, we have taken a look at how some of the more high-profile FPL bosses got on.
Kalvin Phillips
GW points: 90
GW rank: 1,572,175
GW transfers: 1
Overall rank: 1,801,948
A fine week for Leeds standout Kalvin Phillips saw the likes of John Stones, Luke Shaw and Heung-min Son secure double-digit hauls, en route to 90 total points.
More was no doubt expected, however, of triple captain Harry Kane:
James Maddison
GW points: 72
GW rank : 4,746,487
GW transfers: 2
Overall rank: 1,552,712
Sidelined Leicester midfielder James Maddison was unlucky to see teammate and fellow countryman Harvey Barnes join him in the Foxes’ treatment room last week, en route to just a solitary point for the explosive wide-man.
A much-needed 34 points on the part of his 3 defenders, though, saw Maddison avoid what could have proven a frankly disastrous gameweek:
Andy Robertson
GW points: 90
GW rank: 1,513,082
GW transfers: 0
Overall rank: 1,961,931
Like the aforementioned Phillips, Liverpool full-back Andy Robertson came close to the century-mark this week, after seeing captain Heung-min Son and Gabriel Jesus come up big.
The Scot was no doubt disappointed, though, after losing out on a 2nd clean sheet haul from none other than himself, following a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on Thursday:
Patrick Bamford
GW points: 78
GW rank: 3,457,873
GW transfers: 0
Overall rank: 2,153,742
Leeds hitman Patrick Bamford is another of the Premier League’s stars to have bet big on himself this week, with the captain’s armband. The risk, however, failed to pay off, as the Englishman secured a paltry 4 points.
Emi Martinez and Harry Maguire, on the other hand, came up big, amid an altogether average 78-point Gameweek:
Charlie Austin
GW points: 64
GW rank: 6,142,695
GW transfers: 3
Overall rank: 2,664,876
West Brom hitman Charlie Austin is of course currently plying his trade on loan in the Championship with QPR, and saw his ex top-flight opponents let him down in a major way this week.
The 31-year-old, despite an inspired choice in Michael Keane, was held to just 64 total points, a full 11 below the Gameweek average:
A couple of other former Premier League stars…
Kieran Trippier
GW points: 87
GW rank: 2,043,362
GW transfers: 3
Overall rank: 2,537,798
Nicklas Bendtner
GW points: 82
GW rank: 2,901,221
GW transfers: 7 (!)
Overall rank: 795
