Real’s game would go from bad to worse when Ramos went off injured. Significant strapping to the Spaniard’s leg was shown, could be a lengthy lay off for him. Benzema’s lost-range shot struck the bar. But even after 4 half time substitutions and Jovic’s 78th minute cameo, Los Blancos were beaten and Cadiz joined them on 10 points.

Getafe 1-0 Barcelona

Further pressure mounted on the Barcelona hierarchy after their first defeat at Getafe in 9 years. Messi struck the post and Griezmann blazed over the bar to squander the key first half chances for the Blaugrana.

But Barcelona soon inflicted their own woes, Frenkie de Jong fouling defender Djene Dakonam in the box to give away a penalty to the Madrid-based club. Jaime Mata calmly slotting past the deputising Neto in goal. Getafe could have doubled their lead with Cucho Hernandez striking the bar and then later went through one-on-one to fire a right-footed shot far wide.

Getafe survived a late scare when Djene headed onto his own crossbar but held on to take all 3 points and catapult them up to second. Meanwhile, Ronaldo Koeman’s Barca sit ninth on just 7 points from 4 games.
