Koeman provides ter Stegen update ahead of Barcelona vs Dynamo Kyiv

Barcelona vs Dynamo Kyiv

Barcelona are set to return to Champions League action in just over 24 hours.

The Catalan powerhouse head into the clash on the back of yet another disappointing La Liga outing.

A weekend meeting with Alaves saw the Blaugrana held to a 1-1 draw, despite the hosts having been reduced to 10 men with half an hour to go.

The result left Barca languishing in 12th place in the Spanish top-flight, nine points off top spot, though it is worth noting that they boast two games in hand on table-topping Real Sociedad.

Regardless, Ronald Koeman and co. will no doubt be keen to get back to winning ways this week.

And, given the fact that the Catalans have been in solid decent form in Europe of late, victory for Barca versus Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday does seem likely.

The Spaniards head into the tie top of Group G, with six points from two outings.

As for Kyiv, they have amassed just one point thus far, and will be without a staggering 13 players for the trip to the Camp Nou:

At one point, it was even speculated that the clash was set to be called off:

Confirmation has since been forthcoming, though, that the game will in fact go ahead:

Koeman provides ter Stegen update

Ronald Koeman, meanwhile, held his pre-Kyiv press conference on Tuesday.

During the presser, the Dutchman provided an update on Barca’s no.1, Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The German is yet to feature for Barca this season, due to injury.

But, on Tuesday, Koeman revealed that ter Stegen is nearing a return to action:

“Ter Stegen has been training with the group for a week, we see him doing well and tomorrow we will train last and decide the team. We have to wait until tomorrow”
