Juventus make contact with Aouar to hijack Arsenal’s transfer plans for Lyon playmaker.

Juve calls

The saga of the summer for Arsenal fans has take yet another twist. Houssem Aouar appeared to be only a matter of days away from finally agreeing a move to the Gunners.

However, reports emerging on Tuesday evening suggest that Juventus have entered the race for the Frenchman to enquire about his availability and at what stage the Gunners are at with negotiations.

It is expected Arsenal will make a fresh bid very soon but the Gunners may need to hasten if they want to close the deal.

Having lost to Liverpool 3-1 at Anfield, Mikel Arteta will be desperate to try and close the gap further with quality signings in the last days of the window.

Aouar favours Juventus

What Arsenal will be all too aware of is that Aouar seemingly prefers a move to the Italian champions.

It was previously reported by the French media that Aouar was waiting to see if Barcelona or Juventus would show any interest. With that now a possibility, the final days of the window could cause major controversy for the north London club.

Former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi has urged his old club to move swiftly to secure the Frenchman’s services.

“Personally, I would go and get him immediately, because he is a shrewd, hungry player who has a great eye for goal. I like him very much.”

Only time will tell which of the two clubs will see the Frenchman pull on their colours this season.
