Speculation stemming from the Italian media suggests that Juventus have offered Aaron Ramsey to Chelsea in an attempt to lure Jorginho back to Serie A.
Hit-and-miss Chelsea campaign
Italian international Jorginho has endured a somewhat bizarre year at Stamford Bridge.
On the back of a largely-disappointing debut season on Chelsea’s books, the early months of the new campaign saw the former Napoli man finally begin to showcase his abilities at the heart of the Blues’ midfield.
This, in turn, allowed Jorginho to establish himself as an integral member of Frank Lampard’s squad, and even earn the honour of the role of vice-captain.

This, however, all came prior to the season being brought to a halt by the COVID-19 outbreak.
Following the return of English football last month, Jorginho was, almost inexplicably, left out in the cold by Frank Lampard.
Across Chelsea’s first 6 post-lockdown outings, the deep-lying midfielder was afforded a paltry total of 10 minutes of playing time.
As such, though he has since gone on to establish himself as a regular contributor once again over the last couple of weeks, Jorginho’s future at Stamford Bridge appears somewhat up in the air as things stand.
Frank Lampard’s apparent preference for youngster Billy Gilmour has seen speculation begin to ramp up that Jorginho could be shipped back to Italy ahead of next season.
The outfit to have been most persistently tipped as a potential landing spot, meanwhile, have been Juventus.
Such a move would of course see the Italian international reunite with Maurizio Sarri, whom he previously played under at both Napoli and Chelsea.

And, as outlined above, if the latest speculation in the European media is to be believed, then the Bianconeri appear to have made their first attempt to coax Jorginho back to Serie A.
Their proposal, however, is thought to have been firmly rebuffed.
As per a report from Tuttomercatoweb, Juve proposed a midfielder exchange, whereby Jorginho would make the move to Turin, in exchange for Aaron Ramsey (and presumably cash).
Chelsea’s transfer chiefs are said to have informed their counterparts at the Allianz Stadium that they will only entertain straight-cash bids, though, with former Arsenal man Ramsey not of interest to the Blues.
It is hinted, however, that this stance was in fact little more than posturing, with the Premier League giants keen to discover which others members of his squad Maurizio Sarri is ready to offer up.
