A major update surrounding the future of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has been forthcoming online on Sunday.
Uncertain Blues role
Italian international Jorginho is currently in a somewhat precarious spot in southwest London.
The 28-year-old was of course afforded starts in Chelsea’s first two Premier League outings of the campaign.
Frank Lampard even entrusted him with the captain’s armband, suggesting that the former Napoli man had worked his way firmly back into the first-team picture at Stamford Bridge, on the back of a hit-and-miss end to last season.
Saturday evening’s meeting with West Brom, however, saw Jorginho confined to a spot on the bench, with a pairing of N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic favoured.
As such, evidently, it remains unclear where exactly Jorginho sits in the midfield pecking order of Frank Lampard.
It is also worth noting that the Blues have been heavily linked with a swoop for West Ham enforcer Declan Rice of late.
Such uncertainty, in turn, has inevitably also resulted in mounting speculation surrounding Jorginho’s future at Stamford Bridge.
A host of clubs have been tipped to swoop for the Italian this summer, with Chelsea’s London rivals Arsenal even named as a potential landing spot earlier this week.
And, if the latest word stemming from France this afternoon is to be believed, then the Gunners to indeed appear to hold a genuine interest in Jorginho’s signature.
Even more significant, though, are claims that another club have stepped forward to actually open negotiations with Chelsea over a deal.
The outfit in question? PSG.
As per a report from Telefoot Chaine, whilst Arsenal remain ‘very interested’ in Jorginho, it is the French champions who have established contact with the transfer chiefs in southwest London.
PSG are said to be keen to take the 28-year-old to the Parc des Princes on loan for the season ahead:

Interestingly, news of the Ligue 1 giants’ interest in Jorginho comes just 24 hours after Thomas Tuchel refused to rule out the possibility of PSG moving for another pair of Chelsea stars, in the form of Antonio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko:
Thomas Tuchel didn’t confirm interest in Rudiger & Bakayoko but did say: “The club knows my Opinion. He knows my analysis and that of my staff. I am waiting. The transfer window is not over. The situation is not easy, but we still have a little bit of time.” #CFC #PSG
