Isco the latest midfield creator tipped for Arsenal amid claims Spaniard has ‘had enough’ of situation at Real Madrid

The latest word stemming from the Spanish media suggests that Arsenal have emerged as a potential landing spot for disgruntled Real Madrid star Isco.

Partey arrives

The major talking point at the Emirates throughout the latest transfer window of course surrounded the club’s chase of reinforcements in the middle of the park.

Over the course of the summer, a whole host of midfield stars were linked with a move to north London.

Chief among these, over lengthy stretches, were Lyon’s Houssem Aouar and Atletico Madrid standout Thomas Partey.

In the end, having proven frustrated in their pursuit of the former, Arsenal opted to bring in Ghanaian international Partey, to add some much-needed presence to Mikel Arteta’s midfield ranks.

And the 27-year-old has certainly not taken long in making his presence felt, bagging Man of the Match honours in his full Gunners debut versus Rapid Wien, before driving his new side to a long overdue win at Old Trafford three weeks ago.

Blancos star eyed?

Whilst Partey, long-term, will no doubt go on to prove a superb piece of business for Arsenal, however, the club’s midfield puzzle remains far from complete.

Recent weeks have seen the complete lack of a creative spark at Mikel Arteta’s disposal (as Mesut Ozil remains frozen out) widely highlighted, with a midfielder capable of both setting up teammates and finding the back of the net himself expected to be next on the Gunners’ wishlist.

Aforementioned summer target Aouar of course remains one option, though the Frenchman’s difficult start to the campaign, coupled with a likely hefty price-tag, could see Arteta and co. look elsewhere.

Red Bull Salzburg sensation Dominik Szoboszlai is another to have been hotly tipped for the Emirates of late, though the capital outfit are likely to face stiff competition for his signature.

But, as outlined above, if the latest speculation doing the rounds in the European media on Saturday is to be believed, then yet another high-profile creative presence could represent a further alternative for Arsenal in January.

The player in question? Isco.

As first reported by Spanish outlet AS, 28-year-old Isco has made it clear that he wants out of Real Madrid this winter, having become frustrated with both a lack of playing time, and his difficult relationship with manager Zinedine Zidane:

And, fresh on the back of such claims have been further reports that one potential destination for the Spaniard is north London.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal have joined Premier League rivals Everton and Manchester City in the hunt for Isco, with a January move to England a real possibility.

The former Malaga man is not short on suitors elsewhere, though, with all of Sevilla, Juventus and Inter Milan also thought to be keeping close tabs on his situation at the Bernabeu.
