Cavani’s new deal
Manchester United have managed to agree deal with Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani for the forward to remain with the club for another year.
Cavani arrived in Manchester having left PSG, who themselves have struggled to integrate his replacement Mauro Icardi.
He began as more of an impact player but has gradually solidified himself as a valuable asset to the team scoring 15 goals and aiding in 5 more assists across 35 appearances this season in 5 competitions.
This value is what has convinced the likes of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the club to push for a renewal. This faith clearly impressed Cavani having now signed.

Torreira’s Boca move implications
Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has spent the season on loan with Atletico Madrid after falling out of favour with the north London side.
He has since, after the unfortunate passing of his mother, expressed his desire to play in Argentina with Boca Juniors.
“I’d like to make the fans happy but I know it’s not easy. Boca should reach an agreement with Arsenal for a one-year loan,” he said.
101 spoke to Argentinian football journalist and Boca Juniors fan Leonardo Bachanian.
Bachanian explained why Torreira’s move to Boca made sense and why it would not necessarily be a problem for Arsenal to let him go.
Boca can offer Arsenal a place where Torreira can enjoy his football again. Usually when a player leaves Europe to go back to South America is because is in his end part of his career, but Torreira is 25 and don’t see why if having a good year in Boca that would have a negative impact on his price tag once Arsenal wants to capitalise on him.
He went on to speak about Boca’s intentions for the next transfer window and Edinson Cavani is at the top of their list with Torreira. However, the issue is financially.
Bachanian says that the club can only afford to pay one of the two similar wages to that of Carlos Tevez.
Boca can give Torreira or Cavani, to name another one, the same money that they pay to Tevez. Never more.
With Cavani remaining at Manchester United, this has opened the door to Torreira being the high wage earner at the Buenos Aires club.
Arsenal have reportedly put him up for sale and would prefer a permanent move but the midfielder’s insistence on his destination may scupper any hope of that happening.
