Heung-Min Son voted Tottenham’s Player of the Season by Spurs legends

Heung-Min Son has, on Wednesday, clinched yet another award for his exploits throughout 2019/20.

Son’s 2019/20

Tottenham’s 2019/20 hasn’t exactly been perfect. A managerial change, embarrassing cup exits and countless injury woes made up a disappointing season which saw Spurs miss out on a top-four berth for the first time since 2015.

Despite all the issues, though, Son has been as consistent as ever.

The South Korean has arguably had his best season in a Spurs shirt, notching 11 goals and 11 assists in 30 Premier League outings – becoming one of just three players in the English top-flight to reach double figures for both goals and assists this term. Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah the other two to do so.

Son was also able to bag five goals and one assist in six Champions League outings in this campaign.

Son wins another award

Such exploits saw have already seen the winger clinch four awards this season.

Those being Tottenham’s Goal of the Season award for his sensational solo goal vs Burnley, One Hotspur Player of the Season, One Hotspur Juniors’ Player of the Season and Official Supporters’ Clubs’ Player of the Season.

Now, as mentioned above, the 28-year-old has, on Wednesday, added yet another accolade to his ever-growing collection.

Son’s latest prize comes in the form of the Tottenham Legends’ Player of the Season award.

The award was introduced last year and was first won by Moussa Sissoko.

Graham Roberts, who won the FA Cup and UEFA Cup with the Lilywhites, had this to say about Son when speaking on behalf of the north Londoner’s legends:

“It’s been Sonny’s consistency during the season that has caught the eye.

“Without Harry Kane in the team for a long period, he had to step up and he certainly did that. He gives a lot for the team, he’s always out there working hard and he’s always got a smile on his face. We felt he was the best person to have the award this year – he thoroughly deserves it.”
