Guardiola defends Aguero after touching lineswoman vs Arsenal/ Man City forward to face no action

Man City see off Arsenal

Manchester City welcomed Arsenal to the Etihad on Saturday evening as they looked to put an end to their mini winless run.

The Citizens headed into Saturday’s tie having failed to win their last two league ties.

The first of those saw Man City handed a 5-2 drubbing by Leicester City, with Pep Guardiola’s men then held to a 1-1 draw with newly-promoted Leeds.

Vs Arsenal, though, City were able to pick up a key three points.

Raheem Sterling fired the home side into the lead with 23 minutes on the clock and that is how proceedings would finish.

Aguero to face no action

However, the City victory was not the main talking point of the tie.

The main issue to emerge from the tie surrounded Sergio Aguero and an official.

After disagreeing with the lineswoman, Aguero would place his hand around her, with the lineswoman quickly shrugging the striker off.

The incident has since caused something of a stir online.

However, Pep Guardiola would speak out in defence off his player post-match, labelling Aguero the nicest person he has ever met in his life:

“Come on guys. Sergio is the nicest person I ever met in my life. Look for problems in other situations, not in this one.”

It has also since been reported by the Guardian that Aguero will face no action for the incident:
