The Manchester Evening News have provided some insight into Fred’s stance on his Manchester United future following speculation he could be set to leave the club.
Galatasaray linked with Fred
United are understood to have paid Shakhtar Donetsk £47m to bring the Brazilian to Old Trafford in 2018.
Fred has since gone on to endure something of a mixed stint in Manchester.
The midfielder’s debut season in England was pretty average, with neither of Jose Mourinho or Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seemingly too keen on him.
Fred had a similarly shaky start to the 2019/20 campaign.
However, Fred would enjoy a solid spell of form between December and March, which even saw him named as United’s Player of the Month for February.

The 27-year-old’s post-lockdown form hasn’t been as promising, however, with his future in Manchester also called into question of late.
First up, reports began to emerge last week that Fred was of interest to Turkish outfit Galatasaray.

Fred staying put
Fred’s prominence in Man United’s midfield set-up has since been cast into further doubt over the last few days.
The reason for this being that United look set to clinch the signing of midfielder Donny van de Beek from Ajax.
Typically, the Dutchman occupies the no.10 role for Ajax, though he can also play slightly deeper.
And given Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba are pretty much nailed on to start most games for the Reds, that would leave just one position in United’s midfield for all of Fred, Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic to occupy.
Obviously, there will be rotation and van de Beek could start some games over Fernandes, but for the most part, you would imagine it will be Fernandes, Pogba and van de Beek starting.
So, this obviously, would suggest Fred has fallen further down United’s midfield pecking order.
However, according to the aforementioned report from the Manchester Evening News:
Fred has no intention of leaving Manchester United or been informed he is available for transfer as the club prepares to announce the arrival of Donny van de Beek.
The MEN also state that the expectation is van de Beek will occupy the no.6 role Fred played in at the end of last season whilst also mentioning the speculation surrounding interest from Galatasaray in the midfielder.
Despite this, it is understood that there has been no dialogue between Fred’s representatives and Man United over immediate plans for his future and he is happy at the club.
