Liverpool sign Davies & Kabak
One of the major issues facing Liverpool this season has of course been their injury troubles.
Both Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez suffered serious injuries over the opening months of the campaign.
Joel Matip has also had his fair share of fitness troubles, and is currently sidelined with a long-term problem of his own.
This has led to Jurgen Klopp looking to youngster Rhys Williams, along with the likes of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to fill the void at the back.
Incredibly, however, Fabinho too has spent time out of action, with it also evident that moving Fabinho and Henderson to centre-back has greatly weakened Liverpool’s midfield.
In turn, eventually, Liverpool dipped into the market during the winter window to fill the gaping hole at the heart of their backline, with Ben Davies having joined from Preston, before Ozan Kabak arrived on loan from Schalke:
Liverpool interested in Milenkovic
Despite signing two centre-backs and having the option to sign Kabak permanently, Liverpool do still appear to be on the lookout for fresh legs at the back.
A recent report from Italy has credited the Reds with an interest in Fiorentina stopper, Nikola Milenkovic.
The now 23-year-old joined Fiorentina in the summer of 2017.
Milenkovic has since gone on to feature 120 times for the Serie A outfit, notching 10 goals in the process.
And now, according to Fiorentinanews, due to Milenkovic’s contract expiring in 2022 and no new deal signed, the Italians may be forced to sell him in the summer to ensure they recoup some money for him.
It is added that England is a very likely destination for Milenkovic, with the report crediting both Liverpool and Manchester United with an interest in the defender.
