Mikel Arteta’s men return to action this evening, in their first outing following the international break.

The Gunners have made the trip to Elland Road, for a Premier League meeting with Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds.

Arsenal of course head into proceedings desperate for a bounce-back result, on the back of a frankly embarrassing display in the club’s last outing.

The north Londoners welcomed Aston Villa to the Emirates two weekends ago, aiming to build on an impressive win at Old Trafford.

When all was said and done, however, a harrowing 90 minutes for all associated with the club eventually saw Arsenal downed by 3 goals to nil.

As such, with his side having now slipped to 13th in the Premier League table, the pressure is beginning to mount on Mikel Arteta.

And, in turn, the Arsenal boss has responded with a number of changes to the Gunners’ setup this evening.

Alexandre Lacazette, amid the Frenchman’s struggles in front of goal of late, has been relegated to the bench, with a front-three of Willian, Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang set to line out at Elland Road.

Elsewhere, Joe Willock has been rewarded for his fine Europa League form with a start in midfield, whilst Granit Xhaka partners Dani Ceballos from deep in the absence of both Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny:

One key name to have been omitted from not only the Arsenal XI, but the club’s matchday squad altogether on Sunday, however, is David Luiz.

Widespread reports in the media this week of course drew attention to an apparent training ground bust-up between Luiz and Gunners teammate Dani Ceballos, which left the latter with a bloodied nose.

As a result, upon Luiz’s exclusion at Elland Road being revealed, it was inevitably speculated that the Brazilian had been punished by Mikel Arteta.

This, in fact, though, is far from the case.

As confirmed in a post across Arsenal’s social media platforms a short time ago, Luiz’s omission comes with the veteran stopper’s wife having given birth earlier today:
