Crystal Palace’s Roy Hodgson provides Wilfried Zaha update before Tottenham

Tottenham vs Crystal Palace

Tottenham and Crystal Palace will face off on Sunday evening.

Spurs head into the meeting having picked up some key wins over Burnley and Fulham in their last two outings.

Said wins mean that though the Lilywhites are still down in 8th, they are actually still firmly in the race of a Champions League place.

At present, Tottenham are five points adrift of Chelsea who moved up to 4th after their win over Liverpool on Thursday.

However, the north Londoners currently have a game in hand on the Blues, meaning they would of course move to within two points of Chelsea should they win that tie.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, do not have an awful lot to play for this week, or for the remainder of the season in general.

This comes with the Eagles having already amassed 34 points from 27 league outings, meaning they are also most certainly safe from the drop, but also out of the European race as well.

The latest on Wilfried Zaha ahead of Tottenham

Prior to taking on Tottenham, Roy Hodgson held his latest pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.

During the presser, Hodgson would provide an update on Wilfried Zaha.

The Ivorian has missed Palace’s last five league ties, which they have failed to score in four of them.

So, Palace fans would of course no doubt love to see their star striker back this weekend.

And when speaking on Friday, Hodgson indeed suggested that Zaha is likely to be back involved against Spurs.

When quizzed on Zaha being available, Hodgson stated:

“Yeah, I think so. Trained well this week, no reason I can’t consider him.”
