Club Brugge chaos: Striker Dennis out of Dortmund clash after 23-year-old was unable to choose favourite bus seat

Dennis’ bus seat anger

With players dropping out of matches due to positive Covid-19 tests and injuries, it is not uncommon to see star players unavailable for matches. However, Club Brugge star forward Emmanuel Dennis will miss the Belgian side’s match against Borussia Dortmund because he was unable to choose his favourite seat on the team bus.

Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws said that the 23-year-old was “not allowed to sit where he wanted” with the player angrily getting off the bus before it departed.

With 17 goals and 7 assists in the Belgian league during his time with Brugge, Dennis will be a big miss for the side who currently sit third in the group behind Dortmund and Lazio.

Youssouph Badji started for Brugge in their most recent league fixture, a 1-0 win over KV Kortrijk. The 18-year-old may now start for the club having not played since coming on as a substitute in the 2-1 away win against Zenit.

Moukoko debut

Whilst viewers will be unable to see Dennis appear for Club Brugge, many are excited to see the possible Champions League debut of 16-year-old striker Youssoufa Moukoko. The German youth international who turned 16 on Friday, came on for his Borussia Dortmund senior debut against Hertha Berlin at the weekend.

101 spoke to German football expert Andrew Thompson to get insight on the young player. Read the expert analysis here.

“We chose to prioritize freshness in Berlin,” Lucien Favre said when speaking about resting Jadon Sancho for the 5-2 win over Hertha Berlin.

“We will continue to rotate. No player can play 10 games in 30 days. We have a lot of attacking options.”

When asked about the possibility of Moukoko’s involvement the Frenchman was coy on the possibility. “We have to wait for the final training session,” the Dortmund coach.

Dortmund play Club Brugge at 20:00 on Tuesday 24th November.
