Chelsea & Manchester City keen on Robert Lewandowski

Reports on Friday suggest that two Premier League sides are showing an interest in Bayer Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski.

Lewandowski’s Bayern stint

Robert Lewandowski is arguably the best natural centre-forward currently playing.

Harry Kane is perhaps the closest challenger to the Polish international, but the 32-year-old is probably quite clear when it comes to just goalscoring.

Even in the current campaign, where he has missed some big games through injury, Lewandowski has still managed to net a staggering 43 goals and provide eight assists in 37 outings across all competitions.

2019/20 also saw Lewandowski play an integral role in Bayern dominating both domestically and in Europe, with the striker eventually rewarded for his superb form by winning the 2020 The Best Men’s Player award.

It is likely he would have picked up the Ballon d’Or as well, but the ceremony was cancelled due to Covid-19.

Now, despite still being at the top of his game, it appears Lewandowski’s future at the Allianz Arena is not 100 per cent clear.

According to ESPN, Chelsea and Manchester City have emerged as contenders to sign Robert Lewandowski this summer, who is said to be undecided on his future.

Lewandowski’s current contract runs until 2023, with ESPN claiming it would need an offer of around €60m to start negotiations over a potential move.
