Brazil confirm Man United full-back Alex Telles has tested negative for Covid-19/ Martial has a ‘back complaint’

Updates on a pair of Manchester United stars have been forthcoming on Tuesday.

Telles negative for Covid-19

First up, Brazil have provided an update on the situation surrounding Alex Telles.

The Brazilian has featured just once for the Manchester powerhouse since joining from FC Porto due to him testing positive for Covid-19 back in October.

Despite this, Telles still linked up with his national side for the latest international break.

However, on Monday, Brazil released a statement in which they said Guilherme Arana had been called up due to Telles’ Covid-19 situation.

This sparked some confusion as if Telles was still isolating from the virus, why did Brazil pick him in the first place?

On Tuesday, though some clarity has been provided with Brazil have confirmed that the United defender’s latest test came back negative and is now able to face Uruguay on Tuesday evening:

“The defender already had the disease, was asymptomatic and with a non-transmissible condition of the virus, but he could not travel to Uruguay.

“On the last exam, however, Telles’ test came back negative and the defender was released for the game.”

Martial trains alone

On a slightly less positive note, Man United’s star striker appears to have picked up a knock whilst on international duty.

Said issue doesn’t sound too serious, but will no doubt concern the Red Devils.

As per injury expert Ben Dinnery, Martial is flagged as an injury concern for France and trained away from the main group on Monday due to a back complaint:
