Sule’s Bayern Munich stint
Niklas Sule joined Bayern Munich in 2017 from Hoffenheim for a fee of around £18m.
The stopper has since gone on to become an integral member of the Bundesliga outfit’s backline.
The 25-year-old has notched 125 appearances across all competitions for Bayern.
Sule would miss a good chunk of 2019/20 through injury/fitness issues, but he has since returned to the heart of Bayern’s defence.
Chelsea eyeing Sule
However, Sule does appear to be attracting interest from elsewhere in Europe, with it claimed earlier this month that the 29-time capped international was on the shortlist of Premier League outfit, Chelsea:
True ✅ On the shortlist of @ChelseaFC is beside David Alaba and Dayot Upamecano also Niklas Süle @SPORTBILD @FCBayern

Sule’s current deal runs until 2022, meaning he would have just one year left on his contract come the summer.
And if Bayern want to recoup a decent figure for him, they would probably need to part ways with him in the summer.
When speaking about Sule’s future recently, though, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge stated that the club will hold talks with the defender and are happy to extend his contract under certain conditions:
“We want the good German national team players at FC Bayern. Niklas still has one year of the contract.
“We will hold talks and see where they’ll lead. We will look at the whole thing seriously & calmly by the summer.
“Corona (Covid-19 pandemic) has also caused financial damage to FC Bayern.
“If we find a solution, we are happy to extend the contract, but that will only be possible under certain conditions.”
