Arsenal’s David Luiz eyeing Europa League glory

Arsenal on the up

It is fair to say that despite being at the helm for less than a year, Mikel Arteta has transformed Arsenal.

The Gunners have already secured FA Cup and Community Shield success under the inexperienced Spaniard.

They have also had a fantastic start to the current campaign.

Arsenal have only lost in the league to Liverpool, Manchester City and Leicester – winning their remaining four ties.

The north Londoners have also dominated their Europa League group so far, notching maximum points from their first three outings.

David Luiz eyeing Europa League win

And it is in Europe where David Luiz looks to be eyeing success with Arsenal.

The Brazilian returned to the north Londoner’s starting line-up on Thursday vs Molde.

Arsenal would emerge from that clash with a deserved 4-1 victory which sees them sitting pretty atop of Group B with an impressive plus seven goal difference.

Now, after such a positive start, Luiz has spoken about how Arsenal want to do their best in the competition, which he sees at them winning it:

“I think when you’re a big club you have to think about winning every competition.

“This competition [Europa League] is no different, we want to do our best and our best is getting to the final and winning.

“We go step by step, it’s always difficult to play against good teams like today, it was difficult. The teams are very good, good shape, good players.

“I think you have to be humble and take it step by step, but the ambition always has to be there.”
