Arsenal provide team news update ahead of Liverpool

Liverpool vs Arsenal

Week three of the 2020/21 Premier League season draws to a close on Monday.

The final tie of the game week pits Liverpool against Arsenal at Anfield.

The Reds, of course, boast a superb record at Anfield and are undefeated in the league this season after seeing off Leeds and Chelsea

However, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have beaten Jurgen Klopp and co. twice in the last few months – suggesting this clash will be a very tight affair indeed.

Arsenal have also been in solid form of late, picking up wins over West Ham and Fulham in the league as well as edging past Leicester City in the League Cup.

Arsenal team news

Ahead of Monday’s game Arsenal have, on Sunday, provided a team news update on their squad.

First up, all of Sokratis, Cedric Soares and Emile Smith Rowe are looking to returning to full training in the coming days.

This, of course, suggests that they will be absent for Monday’s game at Anfield.

On a more positive note, though, Arsenal are reporting that Kieran Tierney, who missed the Gunners’ last two games, is now back in full training.

Sead Kolasinac has filled in for the Scot on the left of Arsenal’s back-three. But it is quite clear Tierney is much better in this role so his return ahead of Liverpool will no doubt be superb news for the north Londoners.

Elsewhere, Calum Chambers, Pablo Mari, Shkodran Mustafi and Gabriel Martinelli remain long-term absentees:
