Recent speculation in France has suggested Arsenal have made an offer for Lyon midfielder, Houssem Aouar.
Aouar, 22, has been on Lyon’s books since 2009.
After breaking into the first-team ranks of the Ligue 1 giants for the first time at the beginning of 2017, Lyon-born Aouar has since gone on to establish himself as one of the most highly-regarded young talents in French football.
All told, the youngster has notched 137 appearances across all competitions for Lyon, chipping in with 24 goals and 27 assists along the way.
So impressive has Aouar been since bursting onto the scene at Lyon that he has already been compared to Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta.
However, the French U21-international is also not afraid to stick a foot in when required, making Aouar a highly-desirable, all-round midfielder who could no doubt do a job in pretty much any side around Europe.

Arsenal in for Aouar
Such impressive displays have, understandably, led to several big clubs being linked with the midfielder.
Chief among which was, earlier in the season at least, Manchester City.
Lyon of course ousted City from the Champions League last week with Aouar drawn on those links pre-match. However, the French under-21 international remained rather coy on the situation.
Kevin De Bruyne was then full of praise for the Lyon standout after the tie in Lisbon, which may have fuelled hopes that Man City were indeed interested in bringing Aouar to the Etihad.
However, the Manchester Evening News quickly killed those hopes off, stating:
City have no intention of buying an attacking midfielder this summer.
With Man City seemingly not in the race for Aouar this summer, the door looks to have been left open for another Premier League outfit to swoop in.
The side in question is believed to be Arsenal.
The Gunners were linked with Aouar earlier this month with the same report claiming Lyon want £54m for the midfielder.
Now, as per journalist Matt Spiro citing French outlet L’Equipe, Lyon are expecting to sell Aouar this summer but have only received one offer.
That offer comes from Mikel Arteta’s side and is believed to be Matteo Guendouzi plush cash. Guendouzi is, of course, well out of favour with Arteta since the incident vs Brighton with it claimed the Spaniard wants the midfielder out of his squad.
It is understood that Lyon are yet to respond to the offer from the north Londoners.
Lyon expect to sell Houssem Aouar this summer, according to L’Equipe, but only offer they’ve received so far has come from #Arsenal. Arteta a big fan, Edu in contact with Lyon sporting director Juninho. Lyon haven’t responded to offer of € & Guendouzi. #MCFC #Juventus also keen
