A report from the Evening Standard on Wednesday suggests Dani Ceballos will be plying his trade at the Emirates next season.
Ceballos, of course, joined Arsenal on a season-long loan from Real Madrid last summer.
The Spaniard had a fairly promising start to life in England with his standout display vs Burnley in August no doubt catching the eye of the Arsenal faithful.
The months that followed, however, saw Ceballos fail to recapture that form before being hit with an injury.
But after gaining favour with new Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, the Spaniard has cemented himself as a prolific member of the Gunners’ squad. His partnership with Granit Xhaka in midfield has been especially impressive in recent months.

Ceballos staying put for now
As a result, Arsenal fans will no doubt be keen to maintain Ceballos’ services well past this weekend’s FA Cup final.
Arteta himself recently admitted that negotiations over Ceballos staying put were ongoing.
And the Real Madrid man also recently hinted he would be open to staying with the north London outfit, though he did admit that was up to his parent club.
As for Real Madrid, they do seem to have been hit fairly hard by COVID-19, with is reported in Spain back in May that Ceballos was one of the players Los Blancos were looking to cash in on.
This didn’t seem like great news for Arsenal as they themselves appear to be struggling due to COVID-19.
However, the aforementioned report from the Evening Standard is now suggesting Ceballos will not be sold permanently this summer, instead, it is reported that:
Arsenal are growing in confidence that they will be able to extend Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos’ loan for another season.
The ES also mention Real’s desire to sell Ceballos, however, it is added that:
With the Covid-19 pandemic likely to reduce transfer fees, they are not opposed to waiting 12 months.
