Arsenal held by Crystal Palace
Arsenal faced off with Crystal Palace on Thursday evening in a Premier League clash.
The Gunners headed into the tie at the Emirates on a solid run of form, having picked up four wins from their last four across all competitions.
However, the north Londoners still only started Thursday down in 11th spot, and really needed to keep up their winning ways vs Palace if they want to regain ground in the race for European football.
But when 90 minutes were said and done at the Emirates, Arsenal were unable to come away with the three points.
A rather drab 90 minutes ended goalless, with Roy Hodgson’s Palace probably having the better of the chances on the day.
Mikel Arteta provides update on Kieran Tierney
Arsenal were also hampered by the absence of Kieran Tierney vs the Eagles.
The Scotsman has been in sublime form of late and though Arsenal shouldn’t be relying on a left-back for their attacking spark, it was clear Tierney was missed.
The reason for the defender’s omission against Palace was said to be muscle tightness, an issue that didn’t really sound too serious:
Kieran Tierney – muscle tightness, rested as a precaution.
Pablo Mari – tight calf.

However, when speaking post-Palace, Arteta would provide a rather concerning update on Tierney.
When asked if the 23-year-old would be back for Arsenal’s next tie, which is against Newcastle on Monday, the Spaniard had this to say:
“I don’t know depends how he evolves he’s gonna have an MRI scan tomorrow and we’ll see how he is.”
