Townsend aims dig at Jordan
Andros Townsend had a rather interesting Twitter exchange with former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan on Wednesday.
Jordan took over Palace back in 2000 with the Eagles in the Premier League.
However, they were relegated to the Championship in 2005 and didn’t return to the top-flight till several years after Jordan had left the club.
Jordan would leave the club in 2010 after Palace went into administration.
And now, Townsend has taken something of a dig at Jordan on Twitter.
Jordan would respond to a comment on a talkSPORT tweet claiming Townsend would have liked him as Palace owner as he would have increased his non-playing sub bonus.
The Palace forward responded to said tweet by stating:
Simon, you probably would have, which is why you ran the club into near extinction.
Simon,
You probably would have, which is why you ran the club into near extinction 🤷🏽♂😂 https://t.co/5cWJw7XyU3— Andros Townsend (@andros_townsend) February 17, 2021
Brighton vs Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace are now set to turn their attention to a Premier League meeting with rivals Brighton this coming Monday.
The Eagles head into the tie in fairly patchy form, losing three and winning two of their last five.

Brighton, meanwhile, have found a bit of form in recent weeks and are now unbeaten in five league outings.
And though it seems unlikely at this stage, both sides could still technically be relegated this season, meaning they will both no doubt be even more eager than usual to pick up a win on Monday.
